We’ve worked hard to build a great DJ company, and are thrilled to have been able to recruit the best roster of DJs in the region. We recognize that our staff is what has brought us our stellar reputation—because they are skilled at their jobs and take outstanding care of our clients. All of our DJs have gone through extensive training both off-site and on-site through our DJ apprenticeship program.
In addition to thorough training and experience, our DJs are also interesting people with unique hobbies and interests. Feel free to peruse our DJ profiles and learn a bit about our each of our staff–their music specialties, education, hobbies and even some wedding advice. You’ll see that our staff really is what sets us apart.
Our Standard DJs are hired by referral and have been carefully-screened. Each DJ receives personalized training and has completed our comprehensive apprenticeship program with flying colors. They put customer service first and have a fresh enthusiasm for working with couples getting married.
Those designated as Premium are our more experienced DJs with stacks of 5-star reviews. They have worked a minimum of 100 events, but most have worked hundreds more. They are our most requested DJs, and for good reason. If you want to work with one of our Premium DJs, please ask about our Premium DJ upgrade.
Our Exclusive DJs are worth their weight in gold … or at least in quarters. (Do the math, that’s still a lot of money.) Due to their experience and popularity, they only work events where they are specifically contracted. To work with one of our Exclusive DJs, please inquire for availability and pricing.

I like to play hockey in the old man’s (competitive) league. I like to go snowshoeing, hiking, camping, and most of all boating/fishing. When I have time, I enjoy woodworking and leathercraft in my garage. I also coach JV baseball.
I can play the harmonica perfectly to “Piano Man”, but no other songs.
Billy Joel, Queen, Elton John, Chicago, AC/DC, Metallica, Linkin Park, Avicii, DJ’s from Mars, DJ Joe Maz, Maroon 5, Mumford & Sons, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Bebe Rexha, Camila Cabello, Pitbull, Usher, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Andy Grammer, Panic..at the Disco, Sublime, Garth Brooks, Chris Stapleton, Old Crow Medicine Show, Lady Antebellum, Dan & Shay, Michael Buble, Blues Travelers, Francesca Battistelli, Matt Maher
I enjoy all sorts of music, but most recently have been listening to KQ and Cities 97. I workout to my playlists on ipod and like to listen to iheart radio or pandora. I enjoy the “by artist” playlists on internet radio. I will sometimes nerd out and mix my own beats on a dj software I have and listen to that stuff too.
I’ve always loved to listen to music and try to figure out the lyrics or randomly make up my own to songs. My mother introduced me to piano lesson when I was in 1st grade and I was pretty good at playing the piano till about 8th or 9th grade, then sports took over. I played the trombone in the marching band and still have great memories from those days. I was in jazz band and participate in the pit band for most of my High School musicals. I became interested in DJing when I was in college and had a friend that was a DJ. I’ve been a DJ ever since.
I enjoy getting to meet new people and seeing all the different wedding ideas that people come up with. One of my favorite parts of the night is the grand march and introducing the couple into the building or room.

Although there is now some overlap with work, dance is first and foremost my hobby. My specialty is forms of swing from the 20s & 30s and I travel nationally to teach and compete in balboa, lindy hop and charleston. I also enjoy taking classes in other forms of dance and movement including kizomba, tap, belly dance, afro-modern, zumba and yoga. I am a strong proponent of health and wellness, and enjoy cooking and baking. Since I am gluten-intolerant, I’ve enjoyed the challenge of experimenting in the kitchen and creating dishes and baked goods that are superior in taste and nutrition to their wheat-based competition.
I played in a handbell choir through college … it’s cooler than you might think.
John Legend, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Alicia Keys, India Arie, Sam Cooke, Usher, Raphael Saadiq, The Temptations, Pitbull, Meghan Trainor, Shakira
Anything that makes me want to move. I know a lot about early jazz from the swing era from my experience teaching forms of swing and DJing swing dances. I love classic R&B/Soul and Motown…there’s so much good dance music from that era, as well as some great current artists that are producing tracks with a similar feel. Current pop, hip-hop and reggae are also favorites of mine.
If silence is golden, in my world music is platinum. No matter what the occasion, there is always some kind of music that can enhance the environment and make each moment more perfect. Whenever possible, I like to have music playing. Even as a child, some of my most memorable gifts were my Fisher Price record player, my red boom box and my first cassette singles. I used to bring the boom box to elementary school to choreograph routines with my friends to great songs from that era such as MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice. Although times have changed, I still cherish my music collection, now digital…and on occasion you can still find me choreographing routines to perform. 🙂
Although I’m not married, I have plenty of experience with weddings. My first job in high school was making balloon centerpieces and arches for wedding receptions…back when I lived in rural Michigan and that was the hip thing. I’ve been a bridesmaid 8 times, I teach dance lessons to couples prepping for their wedding and also design wedding invitations for couples. So between all of these involvements and DJing with Adagio, I’ve been a part of over 600 weddings. Each is unique and I would be honored to help you make yours a reflection of yourselves!
Loading equipment. j/k 😉 I love achieving a packed floor and seeing people have a good time. I enjoy the challenge of choosing the perfect songs to transition from one genre to another and it’s rewarding to see dancers excited about the next song as it starts.
DJing skills are not gender-biased. As a female, it’s interesting to find out how many people are out there that think it’s a man’s job. On the contrary, I think female perception adds an element to my craft and makes me a better DJ.

Starting on worship teams, I began playing guitar at a young age and music has played a key role in the development of my personality. In my personal time I do freelance videography and photography, shooting short films, music videos, and other things.
I’m a sucker for Disney movies.
Muse, Crywolf, Lights, Allen Stone, M83, Madeon, ODESZA, Woodkid
Just about anything. I’m an avid fan of electronic, funk, jazz, and alternative, among others. As a film lover I love soundtracks, or just about any type of music that tells a story.
Since childhood I’ve had a strong relationship with music. At a young age I played guitar for multiple worship teams, and transitioned to running sound for worship teams. While working at Bethel I was able to run sound in Benson Hall. I also interned with a radio station, gaining experience as a live air DJ, and through work gained experience as an event sound engineer and DJ.
I love providing an experience for others, and being a DJ allows me to provide a premium experience for all of the attendees at each event I work.

Bicycling has always been my favorite activity, but I also love hiking and being in nature as much as possible. I’m an avid gardener with many houseplants and when it’s warm out I grow herbs, vegetables and some flowers on my balcony (heirloom tomatoes are my favorite). Other things I enjoy on a regular basis are cooking, reading, making playlists, strength training, going for walks in my neighborhood, spending time with my loved ones, and attending concerts & comedy shows… I’m also a fan of napping.
My previous profession was in construction. I’m happy with my carpentry skills but I do not miss being in filthy work conditions. 🙂

In my own time I simply play whatever I’m in the mood for. I’m really into jazzy stuff, soul, R&B, hip-hop, rap, reggae, rock and a healthy dose of folk/acoustic, but I listen to a lot more beyond that. I don’t discriminate against any genre and can get into anything when I’m playing for a crowd, as long as they’re moving to it!
I am constantly on the lookout for music and find that there’s nothing quite like the splendid experience of hearing something new to my ears. I have a knack for sharing that type of experience with others by exposing them to new artists or songs that I know they’ll love. On the other hand it’s just as gratifying bringing back music from the past to stir up nostalgia and good memories. Shout out to my dad who raised me on classic rock and helped shape me into the music addict I am today!
One of the best things about being a DJ is having the ability to choose music that compliments the ambiance and overall mood of any given event, therefore I’m always equipped with a playlist to fit the vibe. When it comes time to dance I love seeing people of all ages have a memorable time with their friends and loved ones, and working the unique or “obscure” requests into the playlist that are special to the group is particularly gratifying. Over the years I have been exposed to so much new music that I didn’t know of previously, music of all genres and eras, so my library is endlessly expanding.

I manage non-profit fundraising events for a living. I wouldn’t call that a “hobby” per se, but it does take up most of my free time. LOL! A true hobby of mine would be dancing … I learned a form of swing dance called Lindy Hop in 1999 and have been dancing ever since. I traveled through Europe twice and all around the United States teaching, competing and performing. What I love most about dancing is how the music inspires the dance, and the dance inspires the music.
I stay focused, execute well, and thrive under stress.
Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Prince, James Brown, Maxwell, Lou Rawls, Usher
I love all types of music, but specifically enjoy Oldies/Motown, Classic Rock, Disco/Funk, 80’s, 90’s R&B, and Top 40’s Hip Hop. I developed a love for Motown/Soul/Oldies from a young age when my dad and I used to listen to music together. I was the flower girl at my cousin’s wedding when I was 4 years old and I remember dancing with my dad to “Old Time Rock & Roll” by Bob Seger. He taught me how to be inspired by the music. Since then, each genre of music drew me in with it’s own unique style.
I have always loved music. I remember listening to the music in the car when I was young, and got in trouble more than once for being too consumed with my headphones and paying no attention to anyone else. I attended every dance my grade school and high school ever held. I started in concert band in 4th grade with the flute, moved into percussion in 9th grade, and marched in drumline with the marching band through my senior year. After graduating high school, I learned a partner dance and haven’t stopped dancing since. I don’t remember a day in my life where music hasn’t inspired me.
What I love most about DJing weddings is creating a comfortable environment where the wedding couple and their guests alike can celebrate this special occasion through laughter and music.

I love music so I often find myself playing the piano and bass guitar with my brothers and friends. I am also a big fan of other cultures so I enjoy traveling. Italy and Spain have been my favorite trips. I am very active. I like to go running around the lakes of Minnesota, I love Minnesota summers!
I am deathly afraid of the the dark. Not dark in general, but dark basements really freak me out. Also, I was born in Mexico and spent a considerable amount of time there–so I speak Spanish too.
Pitbull, Fitz and the Tantrums, The Beatles, The Monkees, Maluma, Michael Jackson, Queen, Prince, Backstreet Boys, Justin Bieber, The Eagles, Dean Martin, Frank Sinantra, Stevie Wonder, Foster the People, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Justin Timberlake, Cake
When on my own, I find myself listening to everything from smooth jazz to upbeat country to top 40 hits, but as a DJ I think I excel in, and would prefer to play, more mainstream oldies and top 40 songs. I spent a lot of time in a farming community in Wisconsin and go to Country Jam every year so I am also comfortable with country weddings. Also, I am a big fan of Latino music!
Music was forced on me when I was younger–me and my brothers HAD to take piano lessons and start our own band. My mother always told me I would thank her when I was older…she was right. I am constantly listening to music now and know it helps keep me sane.
When I play a song that the crowd absolutely loves, I love seeing everyone out on the dance floor, singing along. I am also a big fan of the anniversary and dollar dances.

Music is what grounds me, fills my family life, helps me decompress after a day or great night of work!
I just got married in September 2012 and of course Adagio got the business! Tommy did an amazing job and all our guests had fun. It gave me some good perspective on how other DJs keep the crown involved and he introduced me to some new songs that mix well together. The experience really helped me see what a relief it is to have a DJ who knows what they are doing, takes care of the little things and keeps the couple happy and the night flowing. This just drives home the point for me at my events of keeping a high attention to detail and personalizing each step for each couple.

Try to be the best person you can be on a daily basis. Get to know yourself, your strengths, your weaknesses, your needs, so you can walk with love and compassion through your life and with those around you. This is the pathway to happiness. Also, dance as much as possible.
I’m a multi-passionate person. My hobbies include dancing, cooking, gardening, kayaking, hiking, camping, going to concerts, and reading. I love walking with my dog next to the river and hanging up my hammock for reading or journaling while eating some homemade salsa.
I’m very proud of giant playlists I’ve made. One of the best accolades a friend could give me is “you have really good taste in music”. Thus, playlists are a favorite gift I can give a loved one. I’ve been an urban farmer in the past owning and operating a small vegetable farm. I have a special place in my heart for blending all of these bits together at barn concerts with dancing, music, bonfires, and fresh food.

I love most music. I grew up on classic rock and Americana. I would cook dinner with my dad and he would play classic rock, or Patsy Cline, or some 50’s or 60’s music. We would play “name that tune” with the radio on road trips. I grew up in the military and the people on each base had been exposed to a variety of music. So as “military brats” we would share the music that we learned about where we were stationed. I listened to all pop and R&B of the 80’s, 90’s, and today. I swing dance and thus know a lot of swing, big band, jazz, and blues. Some of my favorite music to dance to is funk and afro-funk.
I’ve always been into music. I remember doing a science project in third grade called “Does Music Affect Mood?” where I played different music for my friends and had them journal about how the music made them feel. When I’ve studied abroad or traveled it’s always been important for me to see some live local music. I love concerts, dancing, and music just generally brings happiness to folks.
I’ve been catering weddings on and off for the past 14 years. I love creating solutions to issues that may arise on the day of, seamlessly, so the bride, groom, and their loved ones, can just create some lovely memories and have a great wedding. I believe that weddings are an incredibly special ceremony where couples commit to a union of love and support in front of their loved ones. Thus, I feel incredibly blessed to help bring the couples vision of the day to life making sure the dance party is unforgettable.
Helping the couple create the event they want. It’s a day that you’ve been planning for months and months and it can be stressful. The dance at the end of the day is where you can shake of all those stressors and worries and enjoy your now husband or wife, with all of your friends and family. I love both seeing the love of the couple and the love of all of their friends and family in support of their new step forward. Also, I love getting to play music and when the crowd gets really excited about the music.
I think on my feet and can make things happen. I’ve worked in so many jobs, organized so many large multi-faceted events, that it takes a lot to phase me. It is literally fun for me to ensure that you and your loved ones have a blast.

My favorite genres of music are Rap, Hip Hop, and Pop. I enjoy listening to the latest mainstream hits, but I still appreciate all the classics from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and early millennium songs. I also know a lot about Bollywood/Hindi music hits.
Music has always been a part of my life. It makes everything easier for me. I listen to music in the car, when I study, and before I go to bed. Music makes any activity more entertaining.
I’m not married yet, but I love weddings. It’s amazing to see two people in love being the center of attention for one night dedicated to them. My favorite part about a wedding is seeing couples personalities reflected in the theme and design of their big day!
I really enjoy when couples choose to have an anniversary dance. My favorite part is when the longest married couple has some advice for the newlyweds. I also love seeing everyone get out of the comfort zone and show off their dance moves to their favorite songs.

I’ve always made a habit of making playlists for friends and family, but I also love making themed ones for myself (a fake soundtrack for a TV show, something to suit a certain mood, etc). I moved to the Twin Cities from New York City, and have been slowly immersing myself in all of the glorious outdoor activities you guys get up to here! Lately I’ve been rollerblading around my neighborhood lake and feeling very 90s while I do it. I also love reading, usually historical fiction or sci-fi/fantasy.
I have synesthesia for sounds – I see colors in my head when I listen to music 🙂

At the Disco, Lizzo, Khalid, the Black Panther soundtrack, Ariana Grande, A$AP Rocky, Lord Huron, Travis Scott, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Hozier, Sufjan Stevens, The 1975, Anderson .Paak
On my own I definitely gravitate to R&B and Pop – sometimes I wonder how I would’ve handled it if I’d been born in an era like Medieval times because I’m THAT dependent on a sick bass beat. I guess it’s for the best that I’m here now! That said, I’m well versed in a variety of genres and get such great pleasure out of playing what people love – in some ways I’d say my specialty is noticing the details in people’s favorite music and using those clues to find the next thing they’d like.
I feel powered by it–like I’m a battery that constantly has to recharge through my favorite music. I have visceral memories of the first time I heard a lot of my favorite songs, almost like my brain knew they were going to be important and made sure to save every piece of the data. I just love it–often in ways that are hard to explain, and that sort of feels like the point. Music communicates things we can’t in any other way. It’s such a powerful feeling for me that I’m constantly looking for ways to share it with others.

I grew up in an athletic family and I love playing baseball and basketball whenever I have a chance and I enjoy riding my bike whenever I have a chance (Schwinn not Harley). I try to golf whenever I can and occasionally I’m good at it. Non-sports related hobbies would include popping into the Wild Tymes or Amsterdam in St. Paul to catch a live band and hitting up the Artist Quarter to catch open mic night (watching, not participating). I also enjoy sampling craft beers at the best place on the planet: The Groveland Tap.

The way I’ve always looked at music is do I like it or don’t I? I don’t discriminate by favorite genres. Some songs hit me in a certain way, and some don’t. Overall, I would say that I am a big Country fan, I love 60’s and 70’s rock music, and have a soft spot for some of the current Bluegrass music that’s out.
My parents are huge country fans and by age 6 I could recite the entire Garth Brooks box set. Since that time I have expanded my musical horizons and will listen to just about anything with an open mind. Music to me is the ultimate performance enhancer. It can make movies more dramatic, moments more memorable, and can turn a collection of people into a party. Certain songs will be forever stamped on some of the fondest memories of my life. A couple notables: My first kiss was while “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer was playing. Cheesy, I know … it was at the roller rink too. The first song I sang for an audience was “Barbara Ann” by The Beach Boys.
I love meeting new people and having a good time. I also like the responsibility that is associated with DJing weddings. Ideally you only have one wedding, and it is my responsibility to help entertain your guests for that day. That kind of adrenaline rush is hard to top.

The Beatles, Billy Joel, Ed Sheeran, Queen, Alt-J, Atmosphere, Prince, Trampled by Turtles, Boston, Owl City, Earth Wind and Fire, Lorde, and Imagine Dragons
I love anything with an interesting melody or a rhythm that surprises me. My genre choice at any given moment mostly depends on my mood or the setting Chilling at home, you will usually find me listening to calming acoustic guitar such as Ed Sheeran or John Mayer (mostly live tracks); When I am out and about, I like to throw on some electronic to groove to such as Owl City, Lights or Avicii. My deep love of all things musical keeps me from excluding any genre indefinitely. Some favorites: Classic rock (Boston, Kansas, the Eagles); Indie rock (Alt-J, Arcade Fire, Death Cab for Cutie); Hip-Hop (Atmosphere, Tupac, Eminem); Folk and Bluegrass (Of Monsters and Men, Old Crow Medicine Show, Trampled by Turtles).
Melodic Memories of Kansas, Elton John, and Elvis Costello fill my childhood. Music was very important to my parents and they helped to instill me with a similar if not evolved passion. Thrown into piano lessons at a young age, my love for melody grew in parallel with my distaste for monotonous practicing. At 14, I was put into a rock and roll focused music program where I was able to train in drums and vocals. The program also allowed students to perform full-band cover shows of bands and genres like Queen, The Beatles, and MN Rock. Music has been completely fused into my thoughts, actions, and ambitions. I currently focus on acoustic guitar when writing most of my music.

I travel across the country DJing jazz for dancers. I love it, I’m good at it, and I enjoy the challenge of reading different dance floors in different regions. I tend to DJ indie stuff more when I throw parties on my own- I know my crowd. When I’m out spinning vinyl somewhere in Minneapolis I get a little more freedom- you’ll hear some soul, some 1960’s sunshine pop, or French yéyé. I love how weddings offer an opportunity to bring all of my music expertise together as I match the crowd!
The first time I remember getting excited about music was when I was five years old listening to a cassette tape with my family on a Saturday morning. Saturday mornings were for cleaning, and my parents blasted music so loud you could hear it in every part of the house. My favorite group was The Monkees—which as a child, I initially thought it was real live monkeys that could sing. I brought that cassette tape in for kindergarten show-and-tell for weeks! I started learning how to play music when I was five, and have continually sought out new instruments (piano, flute, piccolo, guitar, ukulele, saxophone- currently working on clarinet and accordion, and just acquired a trumpet.) I remember the first CD I got, and the first big purchase I ever saved up for was a six disc CD player. I remember the awe of going to my first show, and the ringing ears I had afterwards. I remember being on stage and performing for the first time. I remember my first time at First Ave. For me music is a very personal experience, but I have found that with mastery I can bring others into that experience. This is why I DJ–it allows me to share the music and experience with others.

My dad was a drummer in a country band, Gigs and the Branded Men. I always listened to Cadillac Jack on 101.3 and called in regularly to request songs such as Fine Young Cannibals and The Farm.
We had a large-scale reception with over 400 guests in Wisconsin … I’d never do that again. I thought I could do everything and didn’t need a planner, but I forgot everything the day of the wedding (putting out the guest book, etc). Naturally, I hired one of my own staff to DJ the party and he did an awesome job. Our first dance was Jim Brickman’s “Destiny.” Another memorable moment was my sister and my brother-in-law, jumped into the hotel pool … fully suited.

I teach 9th and 10th grade Language Arts, and it is an absolute blast. When I am not teaching, planning, or grading papers, I am an avid movie-watcher and reader. I also love eating good food, dabbling in photography, doing outdoor activities (camping, fishing, Frisbee golfing), playing drums at church, listening to film soundtracks, and playing intense board games (Catan and Pandemic, especially).
I love work projects. Yardwork and landscaping, updating old areas of a house, and especially building and refurbishing old wooden furniture.
Avicii, Madeon, Zedd, Imagine Dragons, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, early 2k hip-hop/R&B, The 1975, Bruno Mars, Troye Sivan, Usher, Pitbull, DJ Khaled, Andy Grammar, Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, Ben Rector, Maroon 5, NF, Hillsong, All Sons & Daughters, Bethel Music, My Chemical Romance, Relient K, Owl City, Passion Pit, Cloud Cult, The Killers, Kings of Leon, Keane, The Black Keys, MGMT, Muse, Twenty One Pilots, Foreigner, Michael Jackson, Styx, Hall & Oats, The Cars, The Lumineers, The Head and the Heart, Tony Bennet, Chuck Mangione, Josh Groban, Eric Witacre, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Hanz Zimmer
When it comes to music, I am “jack of all trades.” I love listening to music that fits any situation or mood that I’m in, so I have a large collection of great music for any circumstance. I grew up listening to Foreigner and Metallica with my dad, and Phil Collins and Hall & Oats with my mom, giving me a wide taste for 80s music. My favorite genres are Alternative Rock/Pop stuff like Imagine Dragons and The 1975, but I enjoy sweet beats with great rhythms like Avicii and Bruno Mars just as much. On the other hand, I know a lot of film scores, and I enjoy classical music by Josh Groban and Eric Whitacre. I have a taste for a little bit of everything!
Growing, music was always being played in the background – mostly 80s hits, which I still enjoy anytime. Then at age 10 I started taking drum lessons, and it has been a big part of my life ever since. It has allowed me participate in branches of music I never thought I would. From 7th grade through college, I was involved in Marching Band, Concert Band, several Jazz bands, Symphony Orchestra, Concert Choir, Men’s Chorus, UNW Choir, various worship teams, Drumline, Percussion Ensemble, and more. Currently, I regularly play drums at my church, and run/mix sound whenever needed.
My wife and I got married at the beautiful Owatonna Country Club in August, 2016. Our ceremony was outdoors (the weather was brilliant!), with reception right inside afterwards. It was a formal-feeling ceremony and reception, but with a twist. Rather than a traditional fare, we served burgers and fries for dinner, and then catered in soft-serve ice cream for dessert. It was a blast, and it accomplished what every wedding hopefully will: it reflected our relationship and our love for fun just in the right way. Weddings can be crazy, but so is life. Have fun with it while you can! The wedding day goes by SO fast while it is happening, so make sure to slow down and enjoy the little moments.
The people. I am fully a “people person,” so meeting new people and making sure everyone is having a blast is very important to me. I also enjoy being an emcee – getting on the mic for the energy-filled Grand March is always a highlight. Also, I absolutely love reading the crowd after a few songs, and then dropping the perfect beat that makes everyone go wild. Bringing people in to a great dancing experience is something that brings me a lot of joy, and I plan to bring it every time. For me, being a DJ isn’t just work – it’s something I love to do.

I love playing old school hip hop from the early 90’s, but love to mix it in with newer top 40 hits.
I’ve loved a wide variety of music since I was very young. Like many kids I would make mixtapes on my boombox by recording songs on the radio. My stepfather is a classical guitarist, so I have an appreciation for all types of music. I was even a part of a local hip-hop group while in college.
My favorite aspect of DJ’ing is seeing the bride and groom very happy at the end of the night, and knowing that everyone had a blast.

I have rehabbed a couple of houses, and enjoy the challenge that brings…to put your fixed up house back on the market and see what kind of response you get to all the hard work of remodeling. I scuba dive, and have dove on wrecks in the frigid waters of Lake Superior as well as done shark dives in the balmy salt water of the Bahamas. I enjoy having friends and family up to my place for BBQ and cigars around the bonfire, which I try to do often during the summer. I love sailing, and used to sail a lot around the Apostle Islands in WI. Pretty much anything on the water, in the water or under the water gets my interest. Have also gone white-water rafting down the Rouge River in Oregon, and would jump at a chance to do that again.
I have a sentimental and gentle soul. I love a good tear-jerker movie. I recently became an ordained minister, and am looking forward to performing my first marriage ceremony.
Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Bob Dylan
I love the variety of the types of weddings and receptions that I have had a chance to see over the fifteen years of being a wedding DJ. I enjoy the pageantry of a traditional classic black and white ceremony to the jazzed up grand march dance-in that the wedding party has been rehearsing for weeks before the wedding. I have seen couples have their kids in the ceremony and their dogs in the ceremony, and I just think that each wedding and reception has to be something special for that couple, and I am very happy when I get to be a small part of their very special and very personal night.
I think it’s just a lot of fun; my chance to be on stage, to orchestrate a great song list and MC a fun and successful night for the family and friends of the new bride and groom on a night that will be remembered for many years to come. I love hearing from the bride and groom that not only did they have a great time, but that people have been complimenting them on their DJ.

Most of my hobbies stem from my love of nature. I am passionate about preserving the world’s natural heritage and I am involved in volunteer and career paths in natural resource conservation, particularly prairie restoration and maintenance. I also enjoy the more common recreational opportunities like mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and birding, Identifying a new bird in the field is just as fun to me as finding money in the street or catching a 26 inch walleye. I also enjoy singing in choir, playing rugby, and swing dancing.
I juggle machetes.
The Eagles , Queen, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Cash, John Williams, Etta James, Jackie Evancho
I like to listen to classic rock on the radio when I’m driving to keep myself awake and to sing along. I love when a movie incorporates the right music, like Howard Shore’s compositions for Lord of the Rings, or any of the John Williams soundtracks in classics like Star Wars and Indiana Jones, or Jaws. I like music with a strong beat for dancing especially swing and polka. I like to listen to blues on the stereo from a reclining chair, as well as listening to a choir in a large church with the appropriate amount of echo so the harmonies can linger and blend with each other.
As long as I can remember I have been traveling Midwest garage sales in search of vinyl records with my record hunter father. We spent a lot of time looking for rare and interesting albums to take home and listen to on the high fidelity stereo system. In this way I was exposed to the vast and diverse history of classical and American music. I gravitated more towards the classic rock genre, especially the Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd with their blend of rock and country sounds. I have a deep appreciation for most well performed music, that is to say I enjoy listening to musical and performance perfection and my standards are high, because I have heard what people are capable of producing. What I really love is when a performer can take a complicated piece of music and hit every single note perfectly and perfectly on time and on top of that infuse it with their own emotional interpretation of what the song means to them. One of my favorites in this category in recent years is Jackie Evancho singing opera under the direction of David Foster.
I love being a part of such a happy and positive celebration. Weddings are always so emotional and positive; I feel good to be able to contribute to the joyous mood that everyone is celebrating.

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. The only way to do great work is to love what you do.
I love to be on the water—boating, fishing or wakeboarding on MN lakes and the Mississippi River. I’ve lived in Los Angeles, where I got into Beach Volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee. I also lived in Bozeman, Montana for a few years where I fell in love with snowboarding Big Sky country, hiking, and floating the Yellowstone River. I came back to my Minnesota roots a few years ago. I love exploring the lakes in MN, the live music scene in the cities, and camping all over the North Shore.
I’ve attended over 300+ concerts and conferences as an Audio or Video Engineer.
Logic, Atmosphere, Lil Dicky, G-Easy, Macklemore, Anderson .Paak, Lorde, Jess Glynee, Jon Bellion, Hall & Oats, Marvin Gaye, Van Morrison, CCR, Foreigner, The Talking Heads, LCD Soundsystem, Beyonce, Halsey and Julia Michaels.
80s/90s/2000s Pop, and some current Pop. Current and older Hip-Hop (from Biggie and Snoop, to Kendrick Lamar and Drake). I have a pretty diverse taste. I will listen to Queen and the Rolling Stones on my way to work, and Eminem and Brother Ali on my home. Anything with a good beat that will get me movin’ and groovin’!
While I understand the importance of silence sometimes, I truly understand the importance of music and rhythm. I constantly am listening to music in the car, at work, and at home. I grew up with older parents and siblings, so I fell in love with oldies at a young age. I am a huge movie junkie, and sometimes fantasize that my life is a movie. I feel the need to create playlists for different days or different moments in my life. I would LOVE to create a soundtrack for a movie someday.

I absolutely love to dance. The past three years I have gotten really into swing dancing, and I recently joined a hip-hop dance group as well as a modern dance class. I enjoy those styles as much as goofy dancing with friends to release some energy. I’ve played clarinet for years and have performed as a member of many music ensembles and it’s always really rewarding to see what a group of musicians can accomplish together. In my free time I’m usually reading or watching crime shows on late night TV.
I am a swing dancer who is fluent in Spanish.
Lady Antebellum, Skillet, Sugarland, Aaron Copland, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Dawes
I’ve always been a big fan of country, and like to relax and listen to acoustic music. I love dancing around to pop music with a catchy tune and swing dancing to big band jazz.
Music has always been a huge presence in my life; I grew up in a household full of music, and went on to be a big music nerd throughout high school and college. I think any situation can be made better by music, and since I like almost all genres I enjoy just about anything I hear. I love to dance or sing (although badly) to everything, whether the lyrics are insightful or it just has a good beat to it. Music is what keeps me sane and inspires me.
My favorite part about being a DJ is seeing the bride and groom having the time of their life on the dance floor with their friends and family. Having a packed dance floor makes the event really fun, but it’s even more special when the most important guests of the night are out there having a great time and enjoying the music.

I love variety. I love it when I get to play 90s hip-hop and R&B one night, country and rock & roll the next weekend, and then crank the top 40 and EDM the next. My favorite nights are when I get to mix all the genres and get people dancing to music they never thought they would. Whatever your favorite music is, I can’t wait to play it for you!
At the age of 3, I awoke from a nap in my car seat singing “Old Time Rock and Roll” and I’m told it was awesome. I have loved music as long as I can remember. As a kid, I learned the words to every song on the oldies station while riding with my parents. In middle school, I would stay up late, waiting for the right song to come on the radio so I could hit record on my tape player. Throughout high school and college I learned the art of the perfect mix cd. Now, I use that passion to help people have a great time on the happiest day of their lives.
My wife and I spent most of our dating years working at a small theatre in Lanesboro, MN. We were married on that stage. The set was an Italian Villa in the 1920s. We had our theatre friends perform songs and do readings for us. One of them, a playwright, wrote and performed our ceremony. It was everything I could have ever hoped for in a wedding. Most importantly for me, it was a reflection and a celebration of who we were as a couple. A wedding is a day to set the tone for the kind of life and dreams you want for each other. It helps to remind me that my job is to help fulfill that dream, and that what my client wants is and always will be the most important thing on that day. The other thing I learned is weddings can be very stressful. About a week out, I think most couples think, for just a second, “why didn’t we elope?!” Breathe, relax, it will all be amazing. Also, chose a close friend to keep family members away on the wedding day, before the ceremony. A bride can only hear “what can I do to help?” so many times before it starts to give her and anxiety attack.
I love seeing a packed dance floor of people having the time of their lives. It’s a great feeling of being at the top of your game. I also love the first dance because you see two people so in love with each other who know that they made it. The years and months of planning are finished and the stress has lifted. They step out on to the dance floor, and for a few minutes, it’s just the two of them, dreaming of the new life they will have together.

It’s one of those time and place things. Depending on my mood there could be a couple of dozen songs I’d like to hear. I grew up in the 80s and 90s so all of that music is part of what made me who I am today (thankfully mullet free). If you see me singing in my car don’t laugh. I’m a crooner trapped in a barely musical body.
It’s been a little rocky from time to time. As a child my parents wanted me to learn to play the piano and trombone. It went very badly. I am not a music maker, but I can take what others have made and run a bunch of it together and we can have a good time.
We turned my in-law’s pole barn into a cheeky tiki luau night in South Dakota. Our invitations asked everyone to wear island wear instead of dress clothes and the entire inside of the pole barn was decorated Hawaiian style with 10 tons of sand on the floor. Our DJ was the guy who owned the entertainment company where I had a part time job back then. It was a night that was VERY memorable for all our guests and family.
Helping to make beautiful memories. Playing music is fun and I do enjoy that part, but I want to help make the monumental event equally memorable.

I have had a love for music since the day I was born. At the age of 2, I danced so hard at my parents’ wedding that I ripped my pants. I started playing piano at 7 and continued throughout high school. In 5th grade I picked up Alto Saxophone and enjoyed playing both instruments for many years joining the Jazz band in High School, which I loved. These days I spend a lot of time enjoying music by singing along to the radio in the shower or when driving.
I enjoy watching everyone rush to the dance floor to have a great time when the dance music starts.

I love art, it being my major in college, I enjoy visiting art museums and losing myself amidst the creativity of others imaginations. My favorite museum trip was in Vienna when I was able to see countless works by my favorite artists, Egon Schiele, Gustav Kimpt and Oskar Kokoshka. I am very much a “dog person.” I have an English Bulldog named Ludo who is my baby. I like attending dog shows, (I know it’s super nerdy) and meeting other dogs and their owners. One day I would like to own a dog ranch where I can dog sit and provide care for all kinds of dogs. Everyday hobbies include watching movies and reading and cooking.

Throughout my life my tastes in music genres has changed with the decades and my age…but I will always love the classic oldies from the 50s and 60s. I admire the tenacity of the artists of the seventies like Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. The eighties gave way to such fun and experimental music that I grew up dancing to and always come back to. The nineties was an era that I think captures most of my music background. Coming of age in this decade I will never forget the bands and sounds that made such an impact on my life. Bands like Sublime and Nirvana, were changing genres of music; no one had heard of grunge or ska punk, and now I can’t imagine my life without them! Currently, I find myself drawn to more independent creative artists that are sometimes less commercially popular, but resonate with how I feel at this juncture in my life. Artists like Sia, Tuneyards, Trampled By Turtles, Atmosphere, Adele, and others are on my playlist from day to day.
In my family, music is what brought us together … well, music and food. Usually, while we cook music is playing and we dance intermittently. Music is what enhanced our mood as a collective and made family memories that much more tangible and joyous. For me personally, music is what helps me connect to my spirit and emotions. Nothing helps add any kind of exclamation point to life better than music. And I love that, in a flash, no matter where or what I am doing, music and song can bring me back to a certain memory or remember when I first brheard a song. My parents claim that I loved music at a very young age; I bonded with my Grandpa Al over music and I believe it was part of his soul that imparted my love of music in me.
I love seeing and hearing the joy in people as they celebrate such a happy day, and knowing that my job is aiding in enhancing those happy memories.

I also love to make little art projects – emphasis on the little. I make small pendants that I sell on Etsy, as well as some other side projects to keep my creative juices flowing. I’ve gone through many phases as far as my favorites are concerned, but the underlying theme remains the same: I want to listen to music that makes me want to dance! It could be my upbringing (my dad always played salsa music throughout the house, so I was moving my hips before I could walk), my high school aspirations to become the next Tiesto (no joke, I e-mailed XM Radio DJ Joe Bermudez for tips when I was sixteen), or my current obsession for all things Lindy Hop and Hip Hop, but if it makes me want to move, I am all over it!
I am not married, and I’ve never been one to plan my dream wedding, but there is one thing I know: Everyone is going to have a great time at mine! I love the atmosphere of weddings. There’s just something so great about that much love in a room. Furthermore, I love love LOVE to dance, so once the reception begins, I like to take it upon myself to keep the dance floor packed. Fun Fact: Before this job, I was called upon at a friend’s wedding to be the designated Conga-Line-Leader.
I love when people get as excited about the music I choose as I do. It’s like I’ve instantly made new friends each and every time. I’m a people-pleaser at heart, so making sure my clients enjoy themselves as much as possible is the greatest challenge I could ever take on.

Weddings are the ultimate gathering of family and friends, so don’t sweat the small stuff because the people that are most important in your life are just happy to be able to share your special day with you.
I think the best part about DJing is seeing someone’s reaction to a song when it first starts playing. The joy on their face makes my day. Bringing people to a specific place and time where that certain song was a big part of their life makes me love what I do.

Music is a way to paint with ethereal colors on the canvas of time. It forces us into the moment. As we are carried along with the tunes, we can more easily watch the stream of nows passing into history, and the futures coming upon us and becoming the nows. Meanwhile, we can join in and shake our funky stuff.
Reading the crowd and bringing a new vibe into existence. Moving the people quite literately. Steering the mood, and creating experiences.
You need to dance. It is in us as humans, and to ignore it is pointless. Just close your eyes and take the ride. It feels great. And soon enough, when your inhibitions start to drop off, you will be one step closer to becoming more fully a true human and along your path to enlightenment.
