You’ll see that our staff really is what sets us apart.

Premium DJs

Those designated as Premium are our more experienced DJs with stacks of 5- star reviews. They have worked a minimum of 200 events, but most have worked hundreds more. They are our most requested DJs, and for good reason. If you want to work with one of our Premium DJs, please ask about our Premium DJ package upgrade.

Exclusive DJs

Our Exclusive DJs are worth their weight in gold...or at least in quarters. (Do the math, that's still a lot of money.) I like to party and have fun!
Best advice I ever received:
Keep your feet on the ground...and keep reaching for the stars.
Something that no one would guess by looking at me:
I can play the harmonica perfectly to "Piano Man", but no other songs.
Favorite music artists:
Pitbull, Rihanna, Billy Joel, Mumford + Sons, AC/DC, Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, Blues Travelers, Michael Buble, Evanescence, Mishka
Genre preferences/specialties:
I enjoy all sorts of music, but most recently have been listening to KQ and Cities 97. I workout to my playlists on ipod and like to listen to iheart radio or pandora. I enjoy the "by artist" playlists on internet radio. I will sometimes nerd out and mix my own beats on a dj software I have and listen to that stuff too.
My relationship with music:
I've always loved to listen to music and try to figure out the lyrics or randomly make up my own to songs. My mother introduced me to piano lesson when I was in 1st grade and I was pretty good at playing the piano till about 8th or 9th grade, then sports took over. I played the trombone in the marching band and still have great memories from those days. I was in jazz band and participate in the pit band for most of my High School musicals. I became interested in DJing when I was in college and had a friend that was a DJ. I've been a DJ ever since...that was 12 years ago already!
Hobbies:
I spend a lot of time taking care of my two little kids. I also play softball on Thursday nights and hockey on Sunday nights. I also enjoy and have a knack for leather craft.
My Wedding:
I married my wife back in 2005 and we had a great time at our wedding. It wasn't too hard to find a DJ service that fit our needs. I had Jay and Vinnie to help me stay on schedule because I was in cloud 9! It's easy to become distracted or overwhelmed during the day of your wedding. Let the professionals help you out to keep things moving and just try to absorb the moment and enjoy the night.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
I enjoy getting to meet new people and seeing all the different wedding ideas that people come up with. One of my favorite parts of the night is the grand march and introducing the couple into the building or room.

If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten.
Something that no one would guess by looking at me:
I played in a handbell choir through college…it’s cooler than you might think.
Favorite music artists:
John Legend, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Alicia Keys, India Arie, Sam Cooke, Usher, Raphael Saadiq, The Temptations, Pitbull, Meghan Trainor, Shakira
Genre preferences/specialties:
Anything that makes me want to move. I know a lot about early jazz from the swing era from my experience teaching forms of swing and DJing swing dances. I love classic R&B/Soul and Motown…there’s so much good dance music from that era, as well as some great current artists that are producing tracks with a similar feel. Current pop, hip-hop and reggae are also favorites of mine.
My relationship with music:
If silence is golden, in my world music is platinum. No matter what the occasion, there is always some kind of music that can enhance the environment and make each moment more perfect. Whenever possible, I like to have music playing. Even as a child, some of my most memorable gifts were my Fisher Price record player, my red boom box and my first cassette singles. I used to bring the boom box to elementary school to choreograph routines with my friends to great songs from that era such as MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice. Although times have changed, I still cherish my music collection, now digital…and on occasion you can still find me choreographing routines to perform. :)
Hobbies:
Although there is now some overlap with work, dance is first and foremost my hobby. My specialty is forms of swing from the 20s & 30s and I travel nationally to teach and compete in balboa, lindy hop and charleston. I also enjoy taking classes in other forms of dance and movement including kizomba, tap, belly dance, afro-modern, zumba and yoga. I am a strong proponent of health and wellness, and enjoy cooking and baking. Since I am gluten-intolerant, I’ve enjoyed the challenge of experimenting in the kitchen and creating dishes and baked goods that are superior in taste and nutrition to their wheat-based competition.
On Weddings:
Although I’m not married, I have plenty of experience with weddings. My first job in high school was making balloon centerpieces and arches for wedding receptions…back when I lived in rural Michigan and that was the hip thing. I’ve been a bridesmaid 8 times, I teach dance lessons to couples prepping for their wedding and also design wedding invitations for couples. So between all of these involvements and DJing with Adagio, I’ve been a part of over 600 weddings. Each is unique and I would be honored to help you make yours a reflection of yourselves!
Favorite part about being a DJ:
Loading equipment. j/k ;) I love achieving a packed floor and seeing people have a good time. I enjoy the challenge of choosing the perfect songs to transition from one genre to another and it’s rewarding to see dancers excited about the next song as it starts.
I want you to know:
DJing skills are not gender-biased. As a female, it’s interesting to find out how many people are out there that think it’s a man’s job. On the contrary, I think female perception adds an element to my craft and makes me a better DJ.

I spent a summer as a wild west gunfighter in Colorado...and got blasted by extra powder from a shotgun on my 3rd day.
Favorite music artists:
Pitbull, David Guetta, Flo Rida, Janelle Monae, 90s hip-hop and R&B, Live, Cake, the Decemberists, Violent Femmes, The Feelies, Metallica, Fitz and the Tantrums, Sam Cooke, James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Alabama, Girl Talk, Lucy Michelle
Genre preferences/specialties:
I love variety. I love it when I get to play 90s hip-hop and R&B one night, country and rock & roll the next weekend, and then crank the top 40 and EDM the next. My favorite nights are when I get to mix all the genres and get people dancing to music they never thought they would. Whatever your favorite music is, I can’t wait to play it for you!
My relationship with music:
At the age of 3, I awoke from a nap in my car seat singing "Old Time Rock and Roll" and I'm told it was awesome. I have loved music as long as I can remember. As a kid, I learned the words to every song on the oldies station while riding with my parents. In middle school, I would stay up late, waiting for the right song to come on the radio so I could hit record on my tape player. Throughout high school and college I learned the art of the perfect mix cd. Now, I use that passion to help people have a great time on the happiest day of their lives.
Hobbies:
My wife and I love to travel, and we always try to find new adventures to go on together. I continue my love of creating mix cds and playlists for friends and family. I love watching movies, reading about them, and writing about them. When I have a day off, you can usually find me walking my dog while listening to audiobooks or trying out a new recipe in the kitchen.
My Wedding:
My wife and I spent most of our dating years working at a small theatre in Lanesboro, MN. We were married on that stage. The set was an Italian Villa in the 1920s. We had our theatre friends perform songs and do readings for us. One of them, a playwright, wrote and performed our ceremony. It was everything I could have ever hoped for in a wedding. Most importantly for me, it was a reflection and a celebration of who we were as a couple. A wedding is a day to set the tone for the kind of life and dreams you want for each other. It helps to remind me that my job is to help fulfill that dream, and that what my client wants is and always will be the most important thing on that day. The other thing I learned is weddings can be very stressful. About a week out, I think most couples think, for just a second, "why didn't we elope?!" Breathe, relax, it will all be amazing. Also, chose a close friend to keep family members away on the wedding day, before the ceremony. A bride can only hear ""what can I do to help?"" so many times before it starts to give her and anxiety attack.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
I love seeing a packed dance floor of people having the time of their lives. It's a great feeling of being at the top of your game. I also love the first dance because you see two people so in love with each other who know that they made it. The years and months of planning are finished and the stress has lifted. They step out on to the dance floor, and for a few minutes, it's just the two of them, dreaming of the new life they will have together.

I drive a minivan!
Favorite music artists:
Incubus, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mumford + Sons, Bob Dylan, Kanye West, Kid Cudi, The Beatles
Genre preferences/specialties:
The way I've always looked at music is do I like it or don't I? I don't discriminate by favorite genres. Some songs hit me in a certain way, and some don't. Overall, I would say that I am a big Country fan, I love 60's and 70's rock music, and have a soft spot for some of the current Bluegrass music that's out.
My relationship with music:
My parents are huge country fans and by age 6 I could recite the entire Garth Brooks box set. Since that time I have expanded my musical horizons and will listen to just about anything with an open mind. Music to me is the ultimate performance enhancer. It can make movies more dramatic, moments more memorable, and can turn a collection of people into a party. Certain songs will be forever stamped on some of the fondest memories of my life. A couple notables: My first kiss was while "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer was playing. Cheesy, I know…it was at the roller rink too. The first song I sang for an audience was "Barbara Ann" by The Beach Boys.
Hobbies:
I grew up in an athletic family and I love playing baseball and basketball whenever I have a chance and I enjoy riding my bike whenever I have a chance (Schwinn not Harley). I try to golf whenever I can and occasionally I'm good at it. Non-sports related hobbies would include popping into the Wild Tymes or Amsterdam in St. Paul to catch a live band and hitting up the Artist Quarter to catch open mic night (watching, not participating). I also enjoy sampling craft beers at the best place on the planet: The Groveland Tap.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
I love meeting new people and having a good time. I also like the responsibility that is associated with DJing weddings. Ideally you only have one wedding, and it is my responsibility to help entertain your guests for that day. That kind of adrenaline rush is hard to top.

As a kid I worked on a farm. I remain an avid outdoorsmen--hiking, paddle-boarding, camping, you name it--if it’s out in the sun, I’m down!
Favorite music artists:
Calvin Harris, Coldplay, Ariana Grande, Journey, Rihanna, Drake, Bon Iver, Justin Bieber, Radiohead, Disclosure, Bryan Adams, Skrillex, Beyonce, Michael Buble, Frank Ocean
Genre preferences/specialties:
Anything that makes our head bob or makes us want to hit that dance floor. I especially love EDM and a good energetic club tune! I love it when multiple genres come together to make something new and fresh and I always keep an ear out for that new song that I just have to work into the mix.
My relationship with music:
Music has always been a big part of my life. I grew up making cassette mix tapes recorded from the radio and sharing them with friends. I learned to play guitar and played in rock bands, even a bluegrass group. Eventually I decided to go to school for recording. After college, I lived in Florida and learned the art of DJing in the local club scene. Now I produce dance music and travel to DJ clubs, bringing groovy dance music to crowds all over!
My Wedding:
My wife and I were married in 2014. It was outdoors in the sunshine at a beautiful, elegant pavilion. For the reception, we took the party to an eclectic club venue and partied well into the AM. My wife and I were among the last to leave, dancing until we tired out!
Favorite part about being a DJ:
It’s magical to share in the memories of so many beautiful people on one of their most special days! As a DJ I take pride in experiencing your favorite music with you, keeping the dance floor packed, and setting the soundtrack to your special day!
Advice:
This is YOUR special day. Try to sit back and let the professionals help keep things running smoothly. Now you can relax, soak in these special moments with those dear to you and dance the night away!

Genre preferences/specialties:
I enjoy all types of music it just depends on what mood I am in. Typically I enjoy listening to Hip-hop, R&B, and Jazz. I also enjoy Reggae, Pop and some country.
My relationship with music:
I have had a love for music since the day I was born. At the age of 2, I danced so hard at my parents' wedding that I ripped my pants. I started playing piano at 7 and continued throughout high school. In 5th grade I picked up Alto Saxophone and enjoyed playing both instruments for many years joining the Jazz band in High School, which I loved. These days I spend a lot of time enjoying music by singing along to the radio in the shower or when driving.
Hobbies:
I dabble in many different hobbies because life has so much to offer. When the weather is nice I enjoy Ultimate Frisbee, Frisbee golf, basketball, running, and tennis. I also enjoy juggling and hitting the dance floor.

Amy Winehouse, Bill Withers, Outkast, The Roots, David Bowie, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Alabama Shakes, Jack Johnson, 2pac, Jimi Hendrix, Kings of Leon, Laura Marling, Kendrick Lamar, Jungle, D'Angelo, Gary Clark Jr., Lucy Michelle, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Tribe Called Quest
Genre preferences/specialties:
On my own time I simply play whatever I'm in the mood for, and that changes everyday. I'm really into jazz, soul, rock, hip-hop and a healthy dose of folk/acoustic, but I listen to a lot more beyond that. I can get into anything when I'm playing music for a crowd, as long as they're moving to it!
My relationship with music:
I am constantly on the lookout for music. There’s nothing like the delightful surprise of experiencing something new to my ears, including music of past eras. I have a knack for sharing that type of experience with people by exposing them to new artists/songs that I know they'll love. Of course it's just as magical hearing songs that are familiar and forever associated with certain memories. For example, the album Stadium Arcadium by RHCP never fails to remind me of my travels in the Canadian Arctic.
Hobbies:
Bicycling, vegetable gardening, hiking, kayaking, cooking
Favorite part about being a DJ:
Using music to contribute to the atmosphere and capture the mood of the evening. I understand how essential the right tune is (and I'm pretty good at finding it). Also, I love seeing everyone of all ages have a memorable time on the dance floor with their loved ones.

Favorite music artists:
The Beatles, Billy Joel, Ed Sheeran, Queen, Alt-J, Atmosphere, Prince, Trampled by Turtles, Boston, Owl City, Earth Wind and Fire, Lorde, and Imagine Dragons
Genre preferences/specialties:
I love anything with an interesting melody or a rhythm that surprises me. My genre choice at any given moment mostly depends on my mood or the setting Chilling at home, you will usually find me listening to calming acoustic guitar such as Ed Sheeran or John Mayer (mostly live tracks); When I am out and about, I like to throw on some electronic to groove to such as Owl City, Lights or Avicii. My deep love of all things musical keeps me from excluding any genre indefinitely. Some favorites: Classic rock (Boston, Kansas, the Eagles); Indie rock (Alt-J, Arcade Fire, Death Cab for Cutie); Hip-Hop (Atmosphere, Tupac, Eminem); Folk and Bluegrass (Of Monsters and Men, Old Crow Medicine Show, Trampled by Turtles).
My relationship with music:
Melodic Memories of Kansas, Elton John, and Elvis Costello fill my childhood. Music was very important to my parents and they helped to instill me with a similar if not evolved passion. Thrown into piano lessons at a young age, my love for melody grew in parallel with my distaste for monotonous practicing. At 14, I was put into a rock and roll focused music program where I was able to train in drums and vocals. The program also allowed students to perform full-band cover shows of bands and genres like Queen, The Beatles, and MN Rock. Music has been completely fused into my thoughts, actions, and ambitions. I currently focus on acoustic guitar when writing most of my music.
Hobbies:
Writing (lyric and free verse), playing music through headphones or with a guitar/piano, singing along to any song (even if I have to fake the lyrics), searching for new music via YouTube and Spotify, and catching up on all of the amazing movies released before I was old enough to appreciate them.

Favorite music artists:
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Leon Bridges, Sylvan Esso, Diana Ross, James Taylor, The Monkees, Billie Holliday, Pitbull, and Raffi (I work with children during the week!)
Genre preferences/specialties:
I travel across the country DJing jazz for dancers. I love it, I’m good at it, and I enjoy the challenge of reading different dance floors in different regions. I tend to DJ indie stuff more when I throw parties on my own- I know my crowd. When I’m out spinning vinyl somewhere in Minneapolis I get a little more freedom- you’ll hear some soul, some 1960’s sunshine pop, or French yéyé. I love how weddings offer an opportunity to bring all of my music expertise together as I match the crowd!
My relationship with music:
The first time I remember getting excited about music was when I was five years old listening to a cassette tape with my family on a Saturday morning. Saturday mornings were for cleaning, and my parents blasted music so loud you could hear it in every part of the house. My favorite group was The Monkees—which as a child, I initially thought it was real live monkeys that could sing. I brought that cassette tape in for kindergarten show-and-tell for weeks! I started learning how to play music when I was five, and have continually sought out new instruments (piano, flute, piccolo, guitar, ukulele, saxophone- currently working on clarinet and accordion, and just acquired a trumpet.) I remember the first CD I got, and the first big purchase I ever saved up for was a six disc CD player. I remember the awe of going to my first show, and the ringing ears I had afterwards. I remember being on stage and performing for the first time. I remember my first time at First Ave. For me music is a very personal experience, but I have found that with mastery I can bring others into that experience. This is why I DJ--it allows me to share the music and experience with others.
Hobbies:
I like to go digging for new vinyl, sewing, thrifting and vintage shopping with my husband. I have quite the urban garden outside of my apartment on the patio. I’m learning how to camp!

I have always wanted to be British.
Favorite music artists:
Sublime, David Bowie, Neutral Milk Hotel, Jack Johnson, Adele, Ben Folds, Lady Gaga, Guns n Roses
Genre preferences/specialties:
Throughout my life my tastes in music genres has changed with the decades and my age…but I will always love the classic oldies from the 50s and 60s. I admire the tenacity of the artists of the seventies like Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. The eighties gave way to such fun and experimental music that I grew up dancing to and always come back to. The nineties was an era that I think captures most of my music background. Coming of age in this decade I will never forget the bands and sounds that made such an impact on my life. Bands like Sublime and Nirvana, were changing genres of music; no one had heard of grunge or ska punk, and now I can't imagine my life without them! Currently, I find myself drawn to more independent creative artists that are sometimes less commercially popular, but resonate with how I feel at this juncture in my life. Artists like Sia, Tuneyards, Trampled By Turtles, Atmosphere, Adele, and others are on my playlist from day to day.
My relationship with music:
In my family, music is what brought us together...well, music and food. Usually, while we cook music is playing and we dance intermittently. Music is what enhanced our mood as a collective and made family memories that much more tangible and joyous. For me personally, music is what helps me connect to my spirit and emotions. Nothing helps add any kind of exclamation point to life better than music. And I love that, in a flash, no matter where or what I am doing, music and song can bring me back to a certain memory or remember when I first brheard a song. My parents claim that I loved music at a very young age; I bonded with my Grandpa Al over music and I believe it was part of his soul that imparted my love of music in me.
Hobbies:
I love art, it being my major in college, I enjoy visiting art museums and losing myself amidst the creativity of others imaginations. My favorite museum trip was in Vienna when I was able to see countless works by my favorite artists, Egon Schiele, Gustav Kimpt and Oskar Kokoshka. I am very much a "dog person." I have an English Bulldog named Ludo who is my baby. I like attending dog shows, (I know it's super nerdy) and meeting other dogs and their owners. One day I would like to own a dog ranch where I can dog sit and provide care for all kinds of dogs. Everyday hobbies include watching movies and reading and cooking.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
I love seeing and hearing the joy in people as they celebrate such a happy day, and knowing that my job is aiding in enhancing those happy memories.

Genre preferences/specialties:
I would consider myself a country guy, but I really like anything with a tune. Pop, Rock, Rap, Polka, Fusion, you name it, I probably like it.
My relationship with music:
Since I was little, music has played a big part in my life. I started in the church choir and now have made music my career. I play piano, guitar, and sing so I try to get out and perform as much as possible.
Hobbies:
Other than music, I will watch or play anything with a ball. Going to the lake and doing fix up projects is something I enjoy as well.
On Weddings:
I have been a part of a lot of weddings. I always love the way couples put a different spin on things and it really shows how everybody likes things a little bit different. Weddings are the ultimate gathering of family and friends, so don’t sweat the small stuff because the people that are most important in your life are just happy to be able to share your special day with you.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
I think the best part about DJing is seeing someone’s reaction to a song when it first starts playing. The joy on their face makes my day. Bringing people to a specific place and time where that certain song was a big part of their life makes me love what I do.

I’ve made an appearance in four professional music videos – for a combined total of about 30 seconds. That blob you see standing behind Dessa with a purple flower in her hair? Yeah, that’s me.
Favorite music artists:
Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Celia Cruz, Kaskade, BT, Beyonce, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Maroon 5, Billy Joel, Fats Waller, Tuba Skinny, I love it all!
Genre preferences/specialties:
I’ve gone through many phases as far as my favorites are concerned, but the underlying theme remains the same: I want to listen to music that makes me want to dance! It could be my upbringing (my dad always played salsa music throughout the house, so I was moving my hips before I could walk), my high school aspirations to become the next Tiesto (no joke, I e-mailed XM Radio DJ Joe Bermudez for tips when I was sixteen), or my current obsession for all things Lindy Hop and Hip Hop, but if it makes me want to move, I am all over it!
Hobbies:
Learning and dancing Lindy Hop (a specific genre of swing dancing) currently garners the majority of my non-grad school time and attention. I also love to make little art projects – emphasis on the little. I make small pendants that I sell on Etsy, as well as some other side projects to keep my creative juices flowing. I also love video games! Currently I am working my way through Final Fantasy VII for a second time, and am always looking for new games to play.
On Weddings:
I am not married, and I’ve never been one to plan my dream wedding, but there is one thing I know: Everyone is going to have a great time at mine! I love the atmosphere of weddings. There’s just something so great about that much love in a room. Furthermore, I love love LOVE to dance, so once the reception begins, I like to take it upon myself to keep the dance floor packed. Fun Fact: Before this job, I was called upon at a friend’s wedding to be the designated Conga-Line-Leader.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
I love when people get as excited about the music I choose as I do. It’s like I’ve instantly made new friends each and every time. I’m a people-pleaser at heart, so making sure my clients enjoy themselves as much as possible is the greatest challenge I could ever take on.
I want you to know:
Esta “DJ” habla Español. Spanish is actually my first language, but my English is likely a little better from living in Minnesota most of my life. I have a degree in psychology and am a pretty great listener, so if we work together and you want to tell me what you’re nervous about, I’m all ears. I’m pretty flexible, and it’s actually pretty hard to stress me out, so if there is something I can do DJing-wise to make things easier for you, please let me know.

My favorite genres of music are Rap, Hip Hop, and Pop. I enjoy listening to the latest mainstream hits, but I still appreciate all the classics from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and early millennium songs. I also know a lot about Bollywood/Hindi music hits.
My relationship with music:
Music has always been a part of my life. It makes everything easier for me. I listen to music in the car, when I study, and before I go to bed. Music makes any activity more entertaining.
Hobbies:
Basketball, Hockey, and Video Games. Also, in the summer I love going out to eat with my friends, and finding fun new stuff to do. On the weekends I love spending time with my family and taking my six year old sister places.
On Weddings:
I’m not married yet, but I love weddings. It’s amazing to see two people in love being the center of attention for one night dedicated to them. My favorite part about a wedding is seeing couples personalities reflected in the theme and design of their big day!
Favorite part about being a DJ:
I really enjoy when couples choose to have an anniversary dance. My favorite part is when the longest married couple has some advice for the newlyweds. I also love seeing everyone get out of the comfort zone and show off their dance moves to their favorite songs.

Always be yourself
Something that no one would guess by looking at me:
I stay focused, execute well, and thrive under stress.
Favorite music artists:
Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Prince, James Brown, Maxwell, Lou Rawls, Usher
Genre preferences/specialties:
I love all types of music, but specifically enjoy Oldies/Motown, Classic Rock, Disco/Funk, 80's, 90's R&B, and Top 40's Hip Hop. I developed a love for Motown/Soul/Oldies from a young age when my dad and I used to listen to music together. I was the flower girl at my cousin's wedding when I was 4 years old and I remember dancing with my dad to "Old Time Rock & Roll" by Bob Seger. He taught me how to be inspired by the music. Since then, each genre of music drew me in with it's own unique style.
My relationship with music:
I have always loved music. I remember listening to the music in the car when I was young, and got in trouble more than once for being too consumed with my headphones and paying no attention to anyone else. I attended every dance my grade school and high school ever held. I started in concert band in 4th grade with the flute, moved into percussion in 9th grade, and marched in drumline with the marching band through my senior year. After graduating high school, I learned a partner dance and haven't stopped dancing since. I don't remember a day in my life where music hasn't inspired me.
Hobbies:
I manage non-profit fundraising events for a living. I wouldn't call that a "hobby" per se, but it does take up most of my free time. LOL! A true hobby of mine would be dancing...I learned a form of swing dance called Lindy Hop in 1999 and have been dancing ever since. I traveled through Europe twice and all around the United States teaching, competing and performing. What I love most about dancing is how the music inspires the dance, and the dance inspires the music.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
What I love most about DJing weddings is creating a comfortable environment where the wedding couple and their guests alike can celebrate this special occasion through laughter and music.

Something that no one would guess by looking at me:
I have a sentimental and gentle soul. I love a good tear-jerker movie. I recently became an ordained minister, and am looking forward to performing my first marriage ceremony.
Favorite music artists:
Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Bob Dylan
Hobbies:
I have rehabbed a couple of houses, and enjoy the challenge that brings…to put your fixed up house back on the market and see what kind of response you get to all the hard work of remodeling. I scuba dive, and have dove on wrecks in the frigid waters of Lake Superior as well as done shark dives in the balmy salt water of the Bahamas. I enjoy having friends and family up to my place for BBQ and cigars around the bonfire, which I try to do often during the summer. I love sailing, and used to sail a lot around the Apostle Islands in WI. Pretty much anything on the water, in the water or under the water gets my interest. Have also gone white-water rafting down the Rouge River in Oregon, and would jump at a chance to do that again.
On Weddings:
I love the variety of the types of weddings and receptions that I have had a chance to see over the fifteen years of being a wedding DJ. I enjoy the pageantry of a traditional classic black and white ceremony to the jazzed up grand march dance-in that the wedding party has been rehearsing for weeks before the wedding. I have seen couples have their kids in the ceremony and their dogs in the ceremony, and I just think that each wedding and reception has to be something special for that couple, and I am very happy when I get to be a small part of their very special and very personal night.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
I think it's just a lot of fun; my chance to be on stage, to orchestrate a great song list and MC a fun and successful night for the family and friends of the new bride and groom on a night that will be remembered for many years to come. I love hearing from the bride and groom that not only did they have a great time, but that people have been complimenting them on their DJ.

I am a swing dancer who is fluent in Spanish.
Favorite music artists:
Lady Antebellum, Skillet, Sugarland, Aaron Copland, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Dawes
Genre preferences/specialties:
I've always been a big fan of country, and like to relax and listen to acoustic music. I love dancing around to pop music with a catchy tune and swing dancing to big band jazz.
My relationship with music:
Music has always been a huge presence in my life; I grew up in a household full of music, and went on to be a big music nerd throughout high school and college. I think any situation can be made better by music, and since I like almost all genres I enjoy just about anything I hear. I love to dance or sing (although badly) to everything, whether the lyrics are insightful or it just has a good beat to it. Music is what keeps me sane and inspires me.
Hobbies:
I absolutely love to dance. The past three years I have gotten really into swing dancing, and I recently joined a hip-hop dance group as well as a modern dance class. I enjoy those styles as much as goofy dancing with friends to release some energy. I've played clarinet for years and have performed as a member of many music ensembles and it's always really rewarding to see what a group of musicians can accomplish together. In my free time I'm usually reading or watching crime shows on late night TV.
Favorite part about being a DJ / Videographer:
My favorite part about being a DJ is seeing the bride and groom having the time of their life on the dance floor with their friends and family. Having a packed dance floor makes the event really fun, but it's even more special when the most important guests of the night are out there having a great time and enjoying the music.

Best advice I ever received:
Don’t sweat the petty things, and don’t pet the sweaty things.
Something that no one would guess by looking at me:
Don’t judge me; I loved Cher when I was 12. This is no longer true, even though I can still belt out ‘Believe’ when no one is looking…
Favorite music artists:
Right now: Alt-j, Daft Punk, Led Zeppelin, Regina Spektor, Justice, The Glitch Mob, Jose Gonzalez
Genre preferences/specialties:
When I’m listening, I prefer weird, fun alternative stuff like Alt-j or electronic/dubstep. However, when I’m around others, I love playing whatever gets people dancing, and I realize Bon Iver doesn’t really equal a rocking dance floor. If it has a good beat, and if I can (poorly) get my groove on to it, I’ll give it a listen. My genre preferences are deep and wide and varied and odd.
My relationship with music:
I love music. I’m constantly singing, and the only time I stop is if you ask me to sing. I’m not much of a vocalist, but I’ve got a sexy-high falsetto that’ll bring down the house. My lists of favorite songs and artists are usually in flux, because I’ve got such an addictive personality that when I hear something I like, I LOVE it. My brother and I bought our first CD together: When Worlds Collide by Powerman 5000, and we wore the crap out of that thing. After that, it was a slow downward spiral into crazy metal and hard rock before I eventually leveled out into the even-keeled, reasonable man I am today.
Hobbies:
I’m a reader and a writer. I like writing poetry, and I’ve tried my hand at spoken word. When I get it right, it’s one of my favorite feelings. I also love snowboarding. I can’t do jumps or rails, but I can shred the gnar with the best of them. I’m gaining new hobbies now that my wife and I just bought a house; things like mowing the lawn and cutting down trees for lumber. Also videogames.
My Wedding:
My wife and I got married on a lake in her parents’ back yard, barefoot, sunset blazing in the background. It was truly beyond words. A friend of ours DJ’d for us and the dance floor was elbow-to-elbow all night long. He did such a great job for us, and it is my goal to replicate that magic for each and every wedding I perform at. At the end of the night we rode away on a pontoon draped with lights. It was alright.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
Holy smokes. I get to be a part of the biggest day in your life?! That’s my favorite part. That I have the honor of, in some small way, of making the best day of your life even better. Watching newlyeds surrounded by the people they love most, dancing and laughing and having so much fun they can barely breathe; the feeling is indescribable.

I listen to all types of music from R&B to Rock, Rap, Classic and the Oldies. My parents are a big fan of plays so I am up to par with the old opera music.
My relationship with music:
Music has always been a part of my life ever since my parents played music for me as a baby. Music is always playing around me during study sessions, naps, showers, in the car, and in class if I could!
Hobbies:
Music is a big part of my life, so I’m always looking forward to the next best song in each genre. I love movies and spending time with my friends and family. I play soccer and basketball weekly as they are another love in my life.

I love making people happy and helping them have a good time. I know music can enhance an event to the fullest, and I love to provide smiles to a crowd with my music choices.

Sara Bareilles, Maroon 5, Michael Buble, Dia Frampton, Florence + the Machine, Lifehouse, KT Tunstall.
Genre preferences/specialties:
I am a sucker for a good mashup. I also like Pop and Rock. As long as the song has an energetic beat and enough clearly articulated lyrics to sing along, then it's my kind of song.
My relationship with music:
In high school, I was a musical theater kid. I sang, I danced, I threw girls up into the air (and caught them). I've always been in a position where if music is playing, then I'm either singing or dancing along with it.
Hobbies:
I love to write stories. I do karate and I'm a swing dancer. I'm usually out with my friends dancing at least once a week.
On Weddings:
I'm still waiting to meet "The One," but I do understand the significance of weddings. My previous job involved event set up--clearing the room, cleaning the floors, bathrooms, windows and setting up for the next event (all of this usually done by myself). I know that every little bit matters. I always made sure I did my part from polishing sink handles to having the dance floor spotless to ensure it was a special day. All of that discipline from my previous job is carried into my profession as a DJ.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
From the second I press play to the moment the night is done, it is my job, my duty and my mission to ensure there are happy faces on the newlyweds and that the dance floor is filled with people jumping, jiving, wailing and slow dancing the night away.

My relationship with music:
My dad was a drummer in a country band, Gigs and the Branded Men. I always listened to Cadillac Jack on 101.3 and called in regularly to request songs such as Fine Young Cannibals and The Farm.
Hobbies:
Skiing, running, spending time with my wife and kids, attending the kids’ piano recitals and hockey games. Traveling…particularly Caribbean cruises. I am passionate about giving back to the community because I feel that I am fortunate in what I have. I hope someday to be able to take my family to Haiti to work in an orphanage. I am the co-founder of Gobble Gait, an annual 8K walk/run to raise money for Hastings Family Services, a local food shelf. Since 1998 we’ve raised over $700,000. www.gobblegait.com
My Wedding:
We had a large-scale reception with over 400 guests in Wisconsin…I’d never do that again. I thought I could do everything and didn’t need a planner, but I forgot everything the day of the wedding (putting out the guest book, etc). Naturally, I hired one of my own staff to DJ the party and he did an awesome job. Our first dance was Jim Brickman’s “Destiny.” Another memorable moment was my sister and my brother-in-law, jumped into the hotel pool…fully suited.

Serving people and watching them enjoy themselves.

Something that no one would guess by looking at me:
I juggle machetes.
Favorite music artists:
The Eagles , Queen, Louis Armstrong, Johnny Cash, John Williams, Etta James, Jackie Evancho
Genre preferences/specialties:
I like to listen to classic rock on the radio when I'm driving to keep myself awake and to sing along. I love when a movie incorporates the right music, like Howard Shore's compositions for Lord of the Rings, or any of the John Williams soundtracks in classics like Star Wars and Indiana Jones, or Jaws. I like music with a strong beat for dancing especially swing and polka. I like to listen to blues on the stereo from a reclining chair, as well as listening to a choir in a large church with the appropriate amount of echo so the harmonies can linger and blend with each other.
My relationship with music:
As long as I can remember I have been traveling Midwest garage sales in search of vinyl records with my record hunter father. We spent a lot of time looking for rare and interesting albums to take home and listen to on the high fidelity stereo system. In this way I was exposed to the vast and diverse history of classical and American music. I gravitated more towards the classic rock genre, especially the Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd with their blend of rock and country sounds. I have a deep appreciation for most well performed music, that is to say I enjoy listening to musical and performance perfection and my standards are high, because I have heard what people are capable of producing. What I really love is when a performer can take a complicated piece of music and hit every single note perfectly and perfectly on time and on top of that infuse it with their own emotional interpretation of what the song means to them. One of my favorites in this category in recent years is Jackie Evancho singing opera under the direction of David Foster.
Hobbies:
Most of my hobbies stem from my love of nature. I am passionate about preserving the world's natural heritage and I am involved in volunteer and career paths in natural resource conservation, particularly prairie restoration and maintenance. I also enjoy the more common recreational opportunities like mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and birding, Identifying a new bird in the field is just as fun to me as finding money in the street or catching a 26 inch walleye. I also enjoy singing in choir, playing rugby, and swing dancing.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
I love being a part of such a happy and positive celebration. Weddings are always so emotional and positive; I feel good to be able to contribute to the joyous mood that everyone is celebrating.

Genre preferences/specialties:
When I am home or working I listen to O.A.R., but when it comes to DJing I prefer music that will make it easy to dance. I like to have parties, and the music sets the beat that moves your feet especially with artists such as Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, and Pitbull.

My relationship with music:
Music is what grounds me, fills my family life, helps me decompress after a day or great night of work!
Hobbies:
I mentor for Big Brothers of the Twin Cities, its a great way to help out, give back and is very rewarding. I also am a husband to an amazing woman and father to two great boys, so family life is also a hobby!
My Wedding:
I just got married in September 2012 and of course Adagio got the business! Tommy did an amazing job and all our guests had fun. It gave me some good perspective on how other DJs keep the crown involved and he introduced me to some new songs that mix well together. The experience really helped me see what a relief it is to have a DJ who knows what they are doing, takes care of the little things and keeps the couple happy and the night flowing. This just drives home the point for me at my events of keeping a high attention to detail and personalizing each step for each couple.

Genre preferences/specialties:
I like anything that makes me dance. Electronic music and hip-hop with a lot of bass gets my booty shaking. Dancing to Michael Jackson is what I really get into. If a DJ doesn't play Michael Jackson, I leave early (kidding).
My relationship with music:
I grew up dancing with friends. We would travel to teen dance nights at schools and rec centers throughout childhood. My favorites then were R&B and rap music. They would have dance competitions so we started choreographing dance routines to the music we loved. Later I started dancing partner dances and then joined a performance team for hip-hop dance with Social Dance Studio.
Hobbies:
I love playing soccer and organizing soccer event groups around the city. I enjoy dancing, especially at concerts of my favorite music artists. Working out and having a healthy diet gives me energy to play more soccer and dance more. I also like sharing music with friends and mixing music. Other things I like to do are hiking, camping, fishing with my dad, traveling, and taking road trips. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are fun tools that I use to make art and promote events.
Favorite part about being a DJ:

Something that no one would guess by looking at me:
I did gymnastics for 10 years
Favorite music artists:
The Beatles, Twenty One Pilots, Eminem, Rise Against, Katy Perry
Genre preferences/specialties:
I enjoy playing Top 40 with a mix of classic rock and high energy music to keep the dance going!
My relationship with music:
Every time I need to drive somewhere I get excited because I can turn the music as loud as I want in the car. Music has been important to me my entire life and I look forward to the moments when I can spend hours online searching for the next perfect song that I won’t be able to stop listening to. I love to explore new music and listen to all genres because there are talented artists everywhere that can write songs that can instantly put me into a good mood.
Hobbies:
I enjoy jogging (because I get to listen to music), rock climbing, camping, Frisbee golfing and relaxing with friends and family.
Favorite part about being a DJ:
I love having the opportunity to create a perfect atmosphere for everyone at a wedding and absolutely nailing it! Watching everyone dance to their favorite songs and having a great time is an extremely rewarding feeling, and I love being able to pack a dance floor!

7 Words that describe me:

Best advice I ever received:
A setback is never a bad experience, just another one of life’s lessons.
Something that no one would guess by looking at me:
I love old farms and barns that are falling down.
Favorite music artists:
BoDeans, SunVolt, Ryan Adams, Foo Fighters, Johnny Cash, Miranda Lambert, Almost anything 80’s
Hobbies:
Most of my hobbies revolve around sports. Golf is a nasty passion that has consumed much of my time and money. Losing golf balls can get expensive. I bow hunt for whitetail deer every fall with sporadic success. Love garage sales, estate sales, antiques and old rustic, shabby-chic stuff. I really enjoy fishing, both fresh water and salt water deep-sea fishing.
Favorite part about being a Videographer:
I love making people look like movie stars. If you can’t look like a movie star on your wedding day…when can you? I am in love with matching great music and songs to the personality of the wedding couple and the vibe of the wedding day. To take thousands of dollars worth of gear and produce priceless memories that people will be able to see and hear forever is very satisfying!
